The Xiaomi Redmi Note line has been one of the most successful budget smartphone lines , especially in India. The Redmi Note 3 started off by providing great specifications including a Snapdragon 650 SoC at a very low price. Now, the Redmi Note 5 has payed a visit to TENAA and the smartphone looks promising to say the least.
First off, lets talk displays. As widely speculated, the Redmi Note 5 will indeed include a taller 5.5-inch 18:9 display. While all company’s are moving towards this trend in 2017, it is really impressive that the taller display is making it’s way into a budget smartphone. Hence, the device will lack hardware navigation keys and go with software buttons.
One big bummer is the camera specification listed. While almost all reports stated that the Redmi Note 5 will sport a dual camera setup on the rear, this one points at a single rear facing camera. Camera has always been the one big problem of the Redmi Note line and everyone hoped that it would be fixed this year.
As has been with all smartphones of the Note line, expect great battery life as the battery capacity is listed as 3750mAh. The handset will be powered by either the Snapdragon 630 or the 636 SoC and will include upto 4GB of RAM.
