The Vivo X9s and the X9s Plus smartphones were launched only a few months back and the company has now launched it’s successor, the Vivo X20 and the X20 Plus. The changes are pretty expected and very much in-line with smartphones released in 2017. The only difference between the X20 and the X20 Plus is the screen size and the battery capacity.
The smartphones sport minimal bezels with high screen-to-body ratio. They come with a tall screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is worthy to note that even the smaller brother, the Vivo X20 packs a huge 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2160. In contrast, the Vivo X20 Plus sports an even larger 6.43-inch Super AMLOLED display with the same resolution. A fingerprint scanner can be found on the rear.
Both the devices are powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, an octa-core CPU clocked in at 2.2 GHz. The Snapdragon 660 chipset has proven to be a very powerful SoC with near flagship level performance. This is backed up by 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The Vivo X20 Plus is fuelled by a 3,245mAh battery and both the handsets run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with FunTouch OS running on top.
As for optics, both smartphones feature a dual camera setup on the rear consisting of a 24MP and a 5MP sensor and a 24MP selfie shooter. However, the Vivo X20 Plus additionally has multi-axis image stabilisation and ultra-thin OIS motor. Vivo has also added Facial recognition to the smartphones and has named it Face Wake.
The Vivo X20 and the X20 Plus will be available in three finishes namely Gold, Rose Gold and Matte Black. The Vivo X20 is priced at RMB 2,998( approx Rs.30,000) for the 64GB variant and RMB 3,398(approx Rs.34,000) for the 128GB variant while the Vivo X20 Plus costs RMB 3,498(approx Rs.35,000).
