While the year has not started on a strong note for the Chinese company, LeEco, they have been teasing multiple releases. Only last week we had a reported regarding a flagship device from the brand packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 6 GB of RAM. Now, just yesterday another unspecified LeEco device was spotted on the benchmarking site Geekbench.
The device is just known as “LeMobile XiubaleR” on the benchmark site and we do not have the detailed specifications of the handset. What we do get are the hardware details such as the SoC, amount of RAM and what version of Android the device is running. What is interesting is that “XiubaleR” features MediaTek’s Helio X20 SoC, which has a deca-core CPU unit with two Cortex-A53 clusters and one Cortex-A72-cluster in a big.LITTLE arrangement. This is coupled to 3 GB of RAM and the prototype device is supposedly running on the latest flavour of Android, v7.1.2., Nougat which is still in beta. Which if true means that the device will be one of the first handsets on the market that comes with that OS out of the box apart from the Google’s Nexus and Pixel line of devices.
This can also probably indicate that the phone is sometime away from entering production though, so maybe it will release when the OS will be a couple months old. Judging by what we know this might be a mid-range device to get market share back from brands such as Xiaomi, Lenovo-MOTO et al. What do you think about this leak, will this device manage to revive the stock of a flagging LeEco or would it be just the comeback driver that they have been looking for.
