After Microsoft acquired Nokia’s mobile department, it almost bought the Nokia brand out of the United States. Today, you don’t see any trace of Nokia in cities like Los Angles, Grand Prairie, and New York City where once the Finnish brand host events in their state-of-the-art theater auditoriums. The Nokia Theatre L.A Live has been renamed to Microsoft Theater, the Nokia Live at Grand Prairie is now called Verizon Theatre, and the one in New York City is now known as PlayStation Theater. But after its long absence in the American market, Nokia is now once again ready to hit the United States.
HMD Global went to their official LinkedIn account to post some job vacancies for offices in Washington, Texas, Georgia and New Jersey. This hints the imminent comeback of the legendary Finnish brand in the United States. Only roles for Product Lead, E-Commerce Lead, and Technical Account Manager is currently empty. This could also mean that HMD has already chosen many other people for the US team.
The jobs’ descriptions mention working with partners, operators and retailers; creating a fitting portfolio for the US market, local marketing activities, sales training etc.
