Samsung’s J series is one of the most popular mid-range series sold in India, at least. The J5 (2017) is one of the relatively new devices in the range launched just in June. The handset is getting Blueborne security patch finally after many other handsets. The update is hitting European units though. If you are one of the users, it will pop up with 392 MB weightage.
The new build will have a version J530FXXU1AQI3 and should update the security patch to August 2017. Blueborne was a very lethal bug found to be connected with Bluetooth. It left almost all Bluetooth devices vulnerable to an attack even without the need to pair a device.
However, Samsung has been quite quick compared to other OEMs in patching the bug and the J5 (2017) is the latest on the list. Other J series devices which are left should get it soon after. Also, other regions with J5 2017 should also get the update soon.
The J5 (2017) comes with an Exynos 7870, 3/2 GB RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It has a 5.2-inch HD display and runs Android Nougat. There’s a rear camera of 13 MP capacity and a front camera of 13 MP too.
