Apple has just finished up its annual developer conference, WWDC where the company showed off many improvements coming this year like the newer version of iOS as well as refreshes to its MacBook as well as iMac series of computers. However, Apple has some more news other than the WWDC announcements. In a first for the company, Apple has opened up its first in-house Apple store in Taiwan. As per the announcement on its Taiwan website, the Apple Store will be in Taipei 101which is the landmark skyscraper of the island state and the store has been decorated with papercut art by Yang Shiyi.

The announcement of the opening of first Apple store in Taiwan was made by none other than Apple CEO Tim Cook on Twitter. In a tweet, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that “Here comes Apple Taipei 101, our first store in Taiwan! 有閒來坐!”. This announcement is even bigger considering the fact that Apple has a large market share in Taiwan. However, Taiwanese Apple users had to rely on Apple site as well as authorized sellers like Youth, Studio A, and iStore until now. The Apple store launch in Taiwan is particularly interesting as Foxconn, the company which manufactures iPhone didn’t have an Apple store in its home state.
The Apple Store has been named the Apple Taipei 101 due to it being located in the Taipei 101 skyscraper. The opening of the Apple store in Taiwan is expected to happen soon and according to a report by local newspaper Apple Daily, the opening could happen at the end of this month.
