Android Pay has been launched by Google as part of the Android OS which makes it easy for people to pay using the credit or debit cards just by adding their cards to the Android devices and paying through the app. We have already seen companies like Samsung ramping up their efforts to promote their payment service like Samsung Pay. Recently, Samsung launched Samsung Pay in India which provides same functionality as Android Pay. Google has been starting to up its efforts to promote Android Pay. As a part of this efforts, Google has now partnered with Bank of America, Bank of New Zealand, Discover, mBank, and USAA to add an Android Pay section inside their apps.
This section is very useful inside the banking apps as earlier we had to seperately download the Android Pay app to use this service but now, we can use the service while using our banking app as Android Pay has tight integration in Android OS.
In a blogpost, Google announced the launch of this service inside banking apps stating the following:
“After completing setup, you can use your phone to tap and pay at millions of stores and wherever you see the Android Pay button in your favourite apps and on the mobile Web. Android Pay will also send you a notification after each successful transaction,”
Google also says that it is looking for similar banking apps for integrating Android Pay in the near future. Google has not launched Android Pay in India but with the launch of Samsung Pay, we may see the service soon enough.
