The Galaxy J7 series is in for a Nougat treat. Just a day ago we saw the update drop for the Galaxy J7 (2016) in India, now it’s rolling out for the Galaxy J7 Prime (G610F/DD) Indian variant. The Galaxy J7 Prime is a September 2016 device and is seen as a midranger in India. It launched with Android Marshmallow out of the box. So, it’s about time, it saw Nougat.
The OTA update is live so it should hit J7 Prime units in India anytime soon. When it does, it will show the firmware version as G610FDDU1BQH9 and will weigh 1143.09 MB. If you somehow don’t see the update notification, you can always go the Settings Menu –> About –> Software Updates and do it manually.
The update will be more or less close to what the J7 (2016) will see. Android Nougat will bring Multi-Window, Quick Settings, Doze Mode, revamped notifications, Quick Replies and much more.
Before you head on to hit that update button, we would like to point out that it is important to backup your data in any case. Also, juice up your handset above 60% as this is an OS upgrade and might take some time. And if you want that update ready to install, latch on to a good Wi-Fi network. Happy Nougat days.
