Xiaomi is in the process or recruiting beta testers for the Mi A1 as it kicks of Android Oreo program. On the other hand, the Chinese phone maker is also pushing the December security patch to Mi A1 units. Needless to say, the update brings security improvements, stability and performance-related tweaks.
The update changelog isn’t very elaborate on the changes as you can see in the image above but it doesn’t weigh much either. Also, with major bugs like KRACK and Blueborne already fixed, there is less cause for concern. The 153 MB package is right now rolling out as OTA and users should soon see it drop on their phones.
If you’re not the kind to wait, head on to system Settings > About Phone and use the manual search for updates button.
Talking about Oreo on the Mi A1, we expect the handset to get it as early as this month. If it is delayed due to beta testing, then expect it in January. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is right now going for Rs 12,999 in India on FlipKart, down Rs 2,000 from its actual MRP. The handset at this price point not only brings better camera quality than the Redmi Note 4, it also flaunts vanilla Android. At this price point, it is a no-brainer in comparison the Redmi Note 4.
