Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 6 will have a successor around April next year. While that is still some way off, we have one of the first leaks regarding what the flagship will offer. It is not only logical but also speculated that the next Mi flagship will abandon the out of favour 16:9 aspect ratio. In other words, we can expect a bezel less-design. Apart from that, some interesting tidbits about the components have surfaced in China.
What gets us interested is gossip of an AMOLED panel supplied by Samsung for the MI 7 (not to be confused with James Bond). Chinese tipsters say it will be a 6.01-inch panel. There is no mention of a curved display here. And truth be told, we’re not expecting it either. Being the top Xiaomi product, the handset is rumoured to carry the Snapdragon 845. Now, we’ve heard earlier that Samsung has booked the entire first batch of those chips for itself. We don’t know whether Xiaomi will be able to ship the Mi 7 with Snapdragon 845. Also, it is expected to come with 6 GB of RAM.
The present leak continues to talk about the camera. It is expected that Xiaomi will fit in a 16 MP duo of sensors at the back of the phone with f/1.7 aperture. Metal and glass construction is also not being ruled out which points to a possibility of wireless charging.
In terms of price, Xiaomi Mi 7 might cost 2,699 Yuan or $408 (approx) for the base variant.
Sadly we don’t have any leaked images for you right now as it is also too early for the Xiaomi flagship. But we will let you know if something new comes in.
