Vivo’s X20 Plus UD smartphone has been making the rounds everywhere. When Vivo first showed off the prototype device at MWC China in late 2017, it turned a lot of heads. It was because of the in-display fingerprint scanner that it grabbed headlines. Vivo showed up on CES 2018 stage too with the Vivo X20 Plus UD showing off the tech. It again served as an anticipation booster.

Now everyone’s been waiting for the device to launch and Vivo has stated that it will be in early 2018. However, we’ve got a tip from one of our sources that the handset might launch on January 25th with a price tag of CNY 3998 or $630 approx. The source is reliable most of the times so we think this might be the actual date. Moreover, the handset has also passed necessary certification from TENAA some days back. So, only Vivo officials can hold the launch back now.
As for the specs, the Vivo X20 Plus will be a premium mid-ranger rocking the Snapdragon 660 chip with 4 gigs of RAM. Latest info suggests the phone will be a 6.43-incher with FHD+ resolution. It will be an OLED panel though as the fingerprint sensor beneath the screen needs that to be functional.
So, if it launches on January 25th, Vivo X20 Plus would be the first of a wave of phones to launch with such tech. Expect more of it in late 2018, and a lot in 2019.
