Its pretty much confirmed that Samsung will get the exclusive first batch of Snapdragon 845 chips, much to the dismay of competitors. The Snapdragon 845 will probably be a good successor to the current SoC. But what about the Exynos variant? Will it be good enough?
Here we have some info regarding the Exynos 9810 SoC that will succeed the current Exynos chipset in the Galaxy S9. Samsung has just started production of the 10nm FinFET chip, the company announced.
This time around, Samsung has made use of 10LPP (Low Power Plus) process compared to 10LPE (Low Power Early) used in previous chips. The new process boosts performance up to 10 percent and will also lead to 15 percent lower power consumption.
Moreover, since it the process is derived from 10LPE, it will allow Samsung to mass produce the new chips in desired quantities.
Among other related news, Samsung plans to ramp up its new chip production at the S3 plant in Hwaseong, Korea. The plant will also be the first to produce 7nm chips for the Korean giant.
Meanwhile, reports of the Galaxy S9 launching at the CES are heating up. Among most recent news, it was reported that the Galaxy S9 will boast of a 90 % screen-to-body ratio.
