Xiaomi due to its blockbuster success in Asia has long been asked about a launch in the US. And the Apple of China has not shied away from it but they have said earlier that they are in no rush. It seems that the wait is about to end for Xiaomi fans in the US as Redmi Note 5A Prime just hit the FCC.
The FCC shows the budget-friendly phone in Gray colour and also shows off a fingerprint scanner at the back. There is a hybrid SIM slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port too. The accompanying images clearly show the antenna lines and the metal unibody design of the phone.
The 2-month old handset comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 435 SoC, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. At the rear, there is a single 13 MP shooter while the front sensor is pegged at 16 MP. The entry-level phone has a 3080 mAh battery inside the metal chassis.
If the phone does debut, then Xiaomi is just one of the few to come to the US with the likes of LeEco, and ZTE both trying their hands on foreign shores. However, fans of Xiaomi also might be less enthused with the entry-level offering in the premium market where a Mi 6 or Mi MIX 2 would be a more attractive introduction.
