Oppo R11s and R11s Plus launched in China with bezel-less displays and a 20MP front camera

Oppo has launched two new smartphones dubbed the Oppo R11s and the R11s Plus in China. The smartphones do not sport the top of the line specifications but focus on the selfie camera and follow the tread by bringing the tall 18:9 display. It is also worthy to note that a dual camera setup makes its way to the rear.

As expected, the two devices only differ in terms of screen size, RAM and battery capacity. However, by no means is the Oppo R11s a compact device. The Oppo R11s sports a large 6-inch display while the Oppo R11s Plus features an even larger 6.43-inch display. Both smartphones have minimal bezels, 18:9 aspect ratio with AMOLED Technology and Full HD+ resolution.

As for specs, both the handsets are powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, an octa-core chipset clocked in at 1.8GHz coupled with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 256GB via a microSD card. Talking RAM, the Oppo R11s comes with 4GB of RAM while the R11s packs 6GB of RAM. Interestingly, the devices come with facial recognition apart from the regular fingerprint scanner found on the rear.

Camera is one area where the company has really focused on while developing these smartphones. A dual lens setup is found at the back consisting of a 16MP primary shooter backed up by a 20MP secondary shooter. Upfront, we have a 20MP for selfies and video calls. Oppo has really upped the ante with AI technologies such as Beautify 5.0.

While the Oppo R11s is fuelled by a 3205mAh battery, there is much larger 4000mAh cell found inside the Oppo R11s Plus. Both smartphones support the companies VOOC fast charging technology. Both run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company’s custom ColorOS 3.2 on top.

The Oppo R11s costs CNY 2,999(approx.29,200) and will be available starting November 10 while the Oppo R11s Plus costs CNY 3,999(approx.39,000) and will be ready to purchase on November 24.
