OnePlus has launched a new “Midnight Black” edition of its popular OnePlus 3T smartphone which was launched last year. OnePlus had earlier launched the Matte Black version of the OnePlus 3T which was in partnership with Collette and had a Collette logo on the back of the phone. The main problem with this phone was that the phone was available only in Paris at the Collette stores exclusively. This meant that if you wanted to buy the phone from outside Paris, you had to travel to Paris. One more thing is that the Collette version was a extremely limited edition variant with only 250 devices made of the edition. OnePlus claims that they got a number of requests from the social media users demanding a Matte Black edition of the OnePlus 3T. Finally, OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 3T Midnight Black edition which the company says has been launched after a series of testing.
OnePlus, on its forum posted the news stating that
“We have been working on a black, all-metal version for a very long time. Over 30 iterations later, we’ve finally crafted a premium, all-black, metal smartphone worthy of the OnePlus logo. We start with space-grade aluminum then carefully apply a dark coating at just 14 microns thick. This process is repeated three times to impart a stunning black color while maintaining the natural look and feel of metal. To finish each device, an anti-fingerprint layer is applied to keep your device looking as new as the day you bought it.”
