We had reported late last month that a 5T teaser leak suggested a November 16 launch. Well, thats true and the company has officially conformed that the successor to the OnePlus 5 will be unveiled in Brooklyn, New York on November 16.
With the launch the OnePlus 3T last year, the 5T was well on cards. The OnePlus 5 was a great smartphone except for the fact that it sports a dated design with huge chins. And that is exactly what OnePlus is going to fix with the OnePlus 5T. Interestingly, this time around, even fans can watch the event live by purchasing tickets that cost $40 which will be available starting November 8. For those worrying about not able to attend the event, it is available as a live telecast too.
As for the OnePlus 5T, the major change is that it will come with a 6-inch Full HD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. As a result, the fingerprint scanner will be moved to the back and hardware keys will be replaced with on-screen keys. And yeah, it will include a headphone jack!
The smartphone will go on sale starting November 21 in North America and Europe and on November 28 in India. However, there is a special flash sale planned for the Indian fans on November 21. Surprisingly, the 5T will go on sale only on December 1 in it’s homeland(China).
Whats a little worrying though is the rumours suggesting that the OnePlus 5T will cost upwards of $600.
