Nokia 8 is currently out in the market. Despite carrying all the prowess of a flagship device, the handset falls short on fans’ expectations on the design. Sure it looks premium and solid but HMD’s Scandinavian design is not as daring as the rest of flagship smartphones in the market. However, seems like HMD is ready to go all out with their next flagship smartphone due to release in Q4 this year.
A photo which the user claims to be the Nokia 9 leaks on Baidu today. Unlike the rest of the current Nokia lineup, the Nokia 9 will sport an infinity display almost identical to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge minus the physical and capacitive buttons. The top and bottom bezels were slimmed down a little bit but still existing.

As per the source, the display will be 5.7-inch (slightly larger than the Nokia 8) with 2K QHD resolution. Unlike the Nokia 8 which sports an IPS LCD display, the Nokia 9 will have an OLED display. The handset will also mark HMD’s transition from smooth aluminum to 3D glass back which is necessary for wireless charging. The Nokia 9 will have a Zeiss branded dual-camera setup which the source claims to be more advanced than that of the Nokia 8.
The handset is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 on board paired either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, IP68 certification, and a next-generation iris scanner. The fingerprint sensor which once situated on the home button will now be located at the back of the device just below the cameras.
HMD Global officially confirmed that they are already testing the Android Oreo for the existing Nokia devices, so we should expect the Nokia 9 to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Nokia 9 may be priced around EUR 749 in European markets.
