HMD’s next flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 Sirocco, was spotted by an Indonesian website Detik during the company’s event held in Jakarta yesterday. According to reports, an HMD Global official was seen using the alleged prototype of the handset throughout the event.
Detik notes that the device has the same curved side bezels similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8. It is also relatively longer compared to the current Nokia handsets, so the best guess is that the phone has an 18:9 aspect ratio display.
The website also noticed that the handset has a glass back plate and two cameras placed vertically at the top center with a fingerprint sensor beneath it. Currently, the only smartphone with edge display and dual camera setup is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. But to compare, the camera setup on the Note 8 is placed horizontally whereas the phone spotted by Detik has a vertical camera setup.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco (previously referred to as the Nokia 9) is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. There will also be a Zeiss-branded dual camera setup with 13MP+13MP configuration and 5MP+5MP front-facing camera.
