This came as a total surprise. Apparently, Lenovo has silently launched the Moto E4 in India and the phone is ready to be bought via an offline retailer for Rs.8,999. While this is assumed to be the retail price of the smartphone, the company hasn’t made the launch price official yet.
Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai based offline retailer uploaded a video on YouTube with the title “Motorola MOTO E4 Unboxing & Impressions”. This video showcases the phone at stock in a store. This is strange.
The Moto E4 was launched in North America with a Snapdragon SoC underneath. However the Indian variant is powered by the Mediatek MTK6737M chipset.
Moto has also confirmed that the Moto E4 Plus will be arriving soon in India. In fact, the company has confirmed that the device will be fuelled by a massive 5000mAh battery via it’s Youtube channel.
As for specs of the Moto E4, it sports a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. It is powered by the Quad core Mediatek MT6737 processor which is clocked in at 1.3 GHz. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and comes with 16GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD. It is backed up by a 2800mAh battery.
As for optics, it comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and auto-focus along with an LED flash. Upfront, we have a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 along with a front facing flash. The camera app also has a beautification mode for better selfie.
