On our last article, we discussed the possibility of the Nokia 9 to adopt a “notched” display following Google’s acknowledgment of the feature with Android “P”. Now, a render claims to belong to the long-rumored Nokia 9 surface on a Chinese website Baidu.
- From left: Nokia 9, Nokia 7 Plus
The render shows a device with a “notched” display (assumed as a plastic-OLED panel) and a dual-front facing camera. The side bezels were also trimmed down to the point the display almost meet the frame of the phone. Unfortunately, there will be no curved display this time. Making it almost look like the 7 Plus rather than the flagship 8 Sirocco. This may sound a little hypocrite, but it is so beautiful. I don’t know, but the “notch” seems to match pretty well on Nokia 9’s body. You’ll agree with me when you see the new ASUS ZenFone 5Z.
For the quick (and supposed) specs, the Nokia 9 will sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. Since it will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, expect the display to be a pOLED panel. Perhaps with similar resolution as that of the 8 Sirocco but slimmed down to a more eye-pleasing 18:9 aspect ratio.
As for the imaging, there will be a dual front-facing cameras and “Penta-lens” cameras on the rear— both co-engineered with Zeiss. HMD will also make use of the dedicated AI Engine on Snapdragon 845 processor to improve the camera performance of the Nokia 9.
Some other expected features:
- Dual Sight mode
- Portrait Mode
- Portrait Lighting
- OZO 360º Audio Capture
- Qi Wireless Charging
- Qualcomm Quick Charge
- IP67 rating
- and hopefully, a headphone jack
