As expected, Gionee launched two midrange smartphones, the M7 and the M7 Power. The smartphones come with bezel-less displays, a trend that every smartphone manufacturer is moving on to. The Gionee M7 is available in Black, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, and Maple Red finishes while the M7 Power comes in Gold, Blue and Black colour options.
The Gionee M7 sports a 6.01-inch FullView display with AMOLED technology. It has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio P30 SoC, an octa-core SoC clocked in 2.3GHz. This is backed up by 6GB of RAM and 64GB ROM which is expandable upto 256GB via a microSD card. A 4000mAh battery provides juice to the device and there is support for fast charging.
As for optics, the Gionee M7 features a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of two 16MP lenses coupled with an 8MP selfie shooter. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Gionee’s custom Amigo OS on top.
The Gionee M7 Power is a toned down version of the M7. It sports a 6-inch FullView display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels. It is powered by the mid-tier Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. Just like the M7, the M7 power includes 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 256GB using a microSD card. The highlighting feature of the M7 Power is the massive 5000mAh battery. The fast charging capabilities is the icing on the cake.
Talking about cameras, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera is present. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 with Amigo OS on top. Both the M7 and the M7 Power feature a fingerprint scanner at the back.
The Gionee M7 is priced at CNY 2,799(approx Rs.27,500) while the M7 Power costs CNY 1,999(approx Rs.20,000).
