Months before the Samsung Galaxy S9 come into the limelight, two components of the handset are already official as per the information provided by Technobuffalo.
Just like the rest of the Galaxy S devices before, the Galaxy S9 is expected to come with either Exynos or Snapdragon SoC, depending on where market you’re located. US should have a Snapdragon chipset, some other markets, like India, should be getting an Exynos chip instead.
Samsung’s next-generation Exynos chipset, the Exynos 9 Series 9810, is one of 36 Samsung products that received CES 2018 Innovation Awards.
“The Exynos 9 Series 9810 is Samsung’s latest flagship processor, with 3rd-generation custom CPU cores, upgraded GPU, and gigabit LTE modem with industry-first 6CA support. It is built on 2nd generation 10nm process technology.” Samsung presented on their press release.
Another component is the camera which is said to be an ISOCELL Slim 2X7. However, only Exynos units are expected come with this new sensor.
“Samsung ISOCELL Slim 2X7 is a 24 megapixel image sensor with 0.9μm pixels, the smallest pixel in the industry, plus Tetracell and remosaic technology to simulate bigger pixel performance. The small 0.9μm pixel size enables a 24Mp image sensor to be fitted in a thinner camera module, allowing premium smartphones to offer high resolution cameras in a very slim and elegant design.”
But take note that the information, although came from the press release provided by Samsung, is just based on intelligent guesses and we might or might not see one of these components implemented on Samsung’s next flagship for the year 2018.
