Elon Musk’s The Boring Company added $500 flamethrowers to their inventory last Saturday.
Last month, Musk teased via Twitter that his company will start shipping flamethrowers after their “boring” $20 hats sell out. Of course, no one knows if he is serious, after all, he’s Elon Musk.
“After 50k hats, we will start selling The Boring Company flamethrower,” Musk tweeted.
Musk ended up selling 50,000 caps which equates to $1,000,000. No one knows how he’s going to utilize the money he had raised, but hints that he’s “gonna build that tunnel one hat at a time.” Since then, we never heard about the flamethrower. Not until last Saturday.
“Say hello to my little friend,” Musk tweeted alongside the link redirecting to his Instagram post.
Musk is actually serious about the flamethrowers and is about to start producing the incendiary weapon after 20,000 people sign up for the pre-order.
No one knows the purpose of the expensive flamethrower, except that Musk mentioned that it’s “great for roasting nuts”. This leads people into thinking that he is plotting out a zombie apocalypse to generate demand for flamethrowers. Musk later denied the childish allegation.
“The rumor that I’m secretly creating a zombie apocalypse to generate demand for flamethrowers is completely false,” Musk clarifies via Twitter.
“You’d need millions of zombies for a so-called “apocalypse” anyway. Where would I even get a factory big enough to make so many!?”
As of now, more than 7,000 people have signed up for the pre-order. Probably, Walking Dead fans and pest exterminators. Oh, and just in case you need one, they are also selling $30 fire extinguishers.
