Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Note 9. And as expected, the device is feature-packed as with all the previous Note smartphones but has additional features enough to make it stand out from the crowd. It now has a bigger display, a massive (but certainly safe) battery, and an expandable onboard storage that is more than enough to fit in 366,208 of 8-megapixel awkward selfies, and 24,384 of 12-megapixel photos in an uncompressed format.
Features like the built-in DeX software and the new cooling system Samsung calls “Water Carbon Cooling System” is also a welcome addition. For the S Pen? Gone are the days when the only thing it does is let you write a note, and initiate few commands. Thanks to the Bluetooth LE technology. You can now customize and control certain applications using a few clicks, without having much to worry about charging. If you’re into Fortnite, the game will be exclusively available for Samsung users for a while. You also get Fortnite freebies (or AKG earphones, your choice) if you pre-order the Galaxy Note 9.
The camera is also completely redesigned, albeit borrowed from the Galaxy S9+. The Scene Optimizer can identify up to 20 different scenes, and automatically adjust the settings to match. Other OEMs may call this “A.I Camera” (which is sometimes laughable), but Samsung wants to stick with the old ways before the term was repeatedly cliched by Android manufacturers. The Flaw Detection feature ensures you capture nothing but sharp, and well-exposed photographs. And that’s really something. And what’s more? Brand-new wallpapers that everyone can enjoy.
