Chinese smartphone-manufacturer Lephone launched its W7 smartphone in India today. The device is priced at ₹4,599 and comes with support for 22 regional language and 4G VoLTE. This places it as one of the cheapest smartphones that can boast of supporting 4G Voice over LTE (VoLTE) standards competing against the likes of the Swipe Konnect Neo 4G.
The device is a dual-SIM unit which is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (unspecified make and model) coupled with a GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD (up-to 32 GB). It features a 5-inch FWVGA (480 x854) panel under a 2.5D curved glass display. The Lephone W7 features a 5-megapixel camera on the back with support for auto-focus and an LED-flash. Selfie duties up-front are handled by a 2-megapixel sensor. Powering all this hardware is an unspecified battery. On the software front, the device is running a custom ROM called 360 based on Android, v.6.0, Marshmallow.

With the launch of Lephone W7 we intend getting premium devices into the hands of consumers at affordable rates while ensuring consumers benefit from all the latest specifications.”
Apart from the support for 4G VoLTE, the device sports WiFi, GPS / A-GPS, Bluetooth (unspecified variant) and FM radio modules. The other major calling card for the device is the regional language support which includes, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Overall the device is a thoroughly entry-level smartphone for someone looking for a cheap handset on the side which supports 4G VoLTE or for those that require a device that supports local languages for ease of access. It will be available in Black, White and Gold liveries.
